Irish Centre for Talented Youth - the CTYI website is information rich, go to the sitemap to navigate.

Outside The Box Learning Resources - Kildare based company who specialises in resources for a range of special educational needs including the gifted and talented, aimed at both parents and teachers. Excellent website where you can shop online.

National Association for Gifted Children UK - This is a 40 year old Charitable organisation for Gifted Children and their families in Britain. A great website with lots of information.

Hoagies Gifted Education Page - a fantastic US resource for parents and educators of gifted kids, with a special section for kids only. Totally self funded it gives fantastic advice such as dealing with schools. .

National Association for Gifted Kids (U.S.) - An excellent website, professionally produced. Defintely worth visiting.

Gifted Development Center - "Supporting giftedness throughout the life cycle..." - Great US based website with information on gifted assessment, visual spatiial learners and the latest research in these areas.; the section on adult giftedness is particularly interesting.

National Parents Council -an advocacy group for parents; check out the Special Education Support Group.

National Parents Council Second Level - excellent resources for those with children in Post Primary education. See Moving from Primary to Secondary.

Special Education Support Services - Unit of Department of Education & Sciences - aimed at providing support and professional development for educators working with special needs children

National Centre for Technology in Education - a government funded initiative which deals with technology in education. Useful information here about ICT for exceptionally able students.

National Educational Psychological Service or better known as NEPS. Important information here on educational assessment and how to apply

Schooldays.ie - Ireland's Online Resource for Parents & Teachers. Find everything you need here to successfully navigate the Irish Education System; from information on preshcools, primary and secondary schools to afterschool care and summer camps. Active discussion boards as well! Includes very useful Schools Calendar.

Bright Kids Ireland Chat Group - Gifted Education Discussion Forum - great topics on educaion legislation and parenting

Cognito.org - " Connecting Young Thinkers around the World"This site from John Hopkins University serves as an online community for academically talented youth. Includes webcasts, news & interviews and a forum. The site also includes a huge links page to the best on the web. Fantastic!

Belin-Blank Center for Gifted Education & Talent Development - "Our vision is to inspire and serve the worldwide gifted community of students, educators, and families through exemplary leadership in advocacy, programming, and research." Based at the University of Iowa, this reknowned Center has become a world leader in gifted education programmes. Celebrating 20 years they have recently launched an International Partnerships website which showcases their many collaborative international projects. We would also recommend that both educators and parents check out their Institute for Research and Policy on Acceleration (IRPA).

GT-Cybersource - A portal to all gifted online resources. Very useful.

Archways - Based in Clondalkin, Dublin, this " is a national organisation promoting and researching the use of evidence based programmes as an intervention for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and also as a means to prevent such difficulties arising in the first place. "

UniquelyGifted.org - US site containing a collection of resources for families with gifted/special needs children and professionals who work with them.

Rainbows - "a non profit making, international organisation that provides curricula for establishing peer support groups for children, youth and adults who have experienced a death, separation, divorce or other painful transition in their family."

Seomra Ranga - Great resources for Irish Primary School Teachers and Home Educators.

Wicklow Triple A Alliance - to support families, provide information, and seek educational facilities and resources for children and adults living with Autism, Asperger Syndrome and A.D.H.D.

Clarefocus.ie - provides information on a wide range of community and social activities in Co. Clare.  Community Groups can also post details of their upcoming events free of charge.

Home Education Network - largest and oldest support network for Home Educators in Ireland.

Dystalk - "for parents of children who are looking for information on how to optimise their child's learning. dysTalk provides information on specific learning difficulties that may be undermining a child's performance as well as learning strategies that can potentially be applied to all children of all abilities."

SENG - Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted - excellent US website with lots of information and articles.

Anam Cara Parent Bereavement Support - " was formed to address the needs of bereaved parents and families. The loss of your child is like no other and bereaved parents often find them selves isolated and lonely in their grief. Who can really understand how you are feeling?  Only someone else who is walking the same road as yourself. " Beautiful, touching and much needed website for those families coping with grief.

Young Social Innovators is a unique programme that gets young people (15-18yrs) involved in action which helps improve the lives of others in their community. It involves thousands of young people in Ireland each year in hundreds of projects and social enterprises which are youth-led, team-based and action-focussed. Information for parents can be downloaded from the YSI website.
