School History - Brilliant interactive site from the UK covering the UK history curriculum from Junior Infants to A Level. Fun games where your knowledge ensures that the teacher has to walk the plank! Includes online history lessons and free downloadables.
The History Guide - Resources for Historians - Must see site for budding historians, a complete list of web sources for all periods. A wonderful labyrinth of information and websites. Could take you days to come out!
Tyburn Gallows - a bit "horrible histories"! For the goulish amongst you. I particularly liked the "Dying Speeches" Page. Ouch!
Internet Medieval SourceBook - Heavy weight site, best suited to teens considering project work in this area.
The Victorian Web - complete online list of resources for those studying the Victorian Era.
Do History - interesting site that allows you to piece together moments in history from fragments that have survived. Kids can work independently, but also useful as a teaching resource.
Active History - although it has some sample content this is a paid subscriber site. Great stuff though from virtual interviews, online simulations, educational arcade games, worksheets & lesson plans and revision quizzes.
